Susheela Raman is my favorite singer; I love to hear for
her wonderful voice,
Salt Rain is her fabulous album. Her native is Thanjavur, born in Britain,
At four years her parents moved to Australia, She learn Western music in Australia,
She
has delivered a Tamil devotional poem from the 13th century and a captain Beef
heart song from 1978 and given it another identity. Music for her is a
constantly changing entity that travels across nations and states, as she
eloquently renders her ideology in her album.
Experimental always, Susheela Raman’s base
voice surely complements the folk amalgamation in her album; Vel. The “Velundu
vinalilai” songs energy, intensity and sheer noise were extraordinary. This is
my daily hearing list.
Some
of the devotional songs she gave a new look. We forgotten the old devotional feels
when hear her songs.
Ganapati song is completely different style,
once we hear her songs; we cannot stop from falling in her voice.
